PICTURE TAKING Alignment and focusing: Press the button on the top of the joystick on the videokeratometer to activate the unit. An image will come up on the screen. Using the joystick move the instrument side to side to align the image of the eye. Move the instrument in and out to focus the eye. The ring at the base of the joystick is rotated to adjust the vertical alignment. The flashing light should be in the center of the box. The faint laser light reflections are thensuperimposed on the square as well by focusing in and out. With all three are aligned have the patient blink to form a good tear film and then fixate again and not blink, make any final focusing adjustment, then press the button on the top of the joystick.
